Description
Human Bone Osteosarcoma Epithelial Cells (U2OS) is an established human epithelial cell line isolated back in the 1960s from a 15-year-old female suffering from bone cancer or osteosarcoma. U2OS cells exhibit epithelial adherent morphology. Cells are positive for IGF-I) and IGF II receptors and express a number of antigens, including blood type A, Rh+, HLA A2, Aw30, B12, Bw35, and B40(+/-).
The U2OS cell line is extensively used as a circadian rhythm model, including in high-throughput screening studies.
Gentarget provides this Luciferase reporter cell line, transformed from human U2OS cell line by lentivirus transduction. This cell line expresses the firefly luciferase gene under the enhanced EF1a promoter. It also carries the Puromycin resistance under Rsv promoter. The cell line demonstrates the high level of bioluminescence signal via firefly luciferase assay. The following express cassette was integrated into cell-line’s genome.
